Rear rad hose rubbing on driveshaft

  1. #1
    Anyone had this before?

My car is doing it, got the pipe off a mate and it seems it had already been rubbing on the previous owners car too

I needed this pipe as the one on my car was also rubbing after engine change

    Never been an issue before

Car is down 60mm all round

Same problem just tied it up Abit with a cable tie

I've just put a big jubilee clip round the hose at the point it runs, tightened it up round the pipe

Then squashed it so it makes the pipe an oval shape, then at any point it could poss rub it'll run metal rather then burst my hose lol

I'd imagine it may only be on full lock it will rub now though

Just surprised I've not seen this mentioned before??

if its the bit at the back I'm thinking of then I know what solved mine was to use the 2 oem clips on the chassis and cable tie it slightly at the back, you know how low mine is but never had a big problem with it

never had the problem using std hoses and std hose retainer which fixed to chassis
I did make an aloy u bracket to repace the std fixing as it is not very strong on one car with cable ties to hold hose in the bracket ,it also stopped rubbing of large tyres on hose on full lock

twist it round a bit where it fixes to the back of the block, and redo the hose clip up. it'll hold itself up a bit higher then.
