    Hey all
have a problem with my 51 plate VTR which has completely thrown me...
basically i went to turn the car over the other day and the battery was dead, so attempted to jump it off another car and wouldnt even try and tick over. so presumed the battery was nackered as the ignition lights would come on and go very dim and eventually off. so went and bought a new battery today hooked it up, turned the ignition on and all lights came on no issues. went to turn it over and it ticked a bit then all went off, now ive got no ignition lights again only battery light on first turn. the car was booked for mot this week after a 4month rebuild. the car has been started countless times with absolutely no issues until this point (car was started and drove 3 days ago with no issues) i am totally stumped on this and running out of time. would appreciate the help on this very much.
PS i am in the walsall area if anyone would like to look at it as well as the advise on here
    Thanks a lot everyone!

Are you sure the battery was charged by the supplier before you bought it?

but as i say all the lights came on first of all on the ignition, then turned to start it clicked and now i get nothing other than first turn (just battery light)

Without looking at your car i`d say you`ve got a bad current drain from somewhere which is draining your battery mate.

think ive sorted the issue. i disconnected all earths from chassis and starter, cleaned up all the connections and scratched back paint on chassis. put it all back together and it fired up!
the engines had a full rebuild and the engine bay was cleaned and sprayed, looks like it was down to paint under the earths causing a weak connection, not sure why it didnt flag up before but there you go
thanks for the help people hopefully this problem is now solved.
