16v Help ASAP

Okay, forgive me for asking, usually it's people asking me! But my scanner is crap with the particular problem.

    Okay, 106 gti. Tripple plug.

Bogging down, missfiring. Not so bad when cold but once warm it gets worse. Black smoke / overfuelling.

    Have changed:
    Fuel pump + regulators
    Coilpack
    Map sensor
    ICV
    TPS
    ECT sensor
    Injectors + rail
    Crank sensor
    FRONT Lambda
    COMPLETE ENGINE + loom.
    All earths cleaned.
Dozens of ecu reset and DTC's cleared. No current codes displayed

    Now, I'll try and explain.

When running the problem gets worse the warmer it gets. I have physically tried everything. I have no fuel being returned when running.

So, I'm thinking of the last two things to change. ECU and 2nd lambda.

I've tried another ecu which is locked, but gives fuel returning.

Sorry it's a bit hit/miss with my description but I've been trying to sort this for a few weeks. Surely this must be ECU related? Makes no difference if second lambda unplugged.

Tenner to the first person to tell me what's wrong. Going to try another lambda and ecu tomorrow but I don't have faith.

Ps, problem is apparent from cold and full throttle. When warm you can JUST keep it running with very minimal throttle, until it cuts out and it won't start again for tiiime.

    pistion rings?

Unlikely on both engines. First engine had compression test and within tolerances across all 4. I know blow by test would be good, on the other hand there's no excess oil pressure.

Tbh I'm certain this is a fuelling problem. It runs half okay till its warm, when it will hardly run, smokes black and gives me Carbon monoxide poisoning the following day.

umm. got me thinking. lol good luck mate.

Christ thats a problem & a 1/2,right you say you`ve changed the loom have you changed anything like the coolant temperature sensor? The only other thing I can think of a faulty fuel pressure regulator(giving too much fuel)or a fault with the ecu.

Yup, the only thing NOT changed is ECU and second lambda + anything further than engine loom.

Using a donor (locked) ecu gives me returning fuel. Trying another ECU tomorrow and crossed fingers, but you know when you get that feeling it's just not gonna make a difference?

    were all parts new/tested?

    fuel filter?

Sounds like ECU problem to me since you've changed everything including new engine and still got a problem
