Bought a 2001 VTR at the weekend, been fine until this morning.

On idle I can feel the car shaking / vibrating, if i rev it, when the revs drop the vibration is worse and can hear the plastic panels on the car shaking.

It idles fine and drives fine.

At first i thought maybe the exhaust had moved and was touching the body / bumper but it looks ok and isnt touching anywhere that i can see.

Could this be an engine mount?

Does it vibrate more when the revs go up, and can you physically wobble the engine by hand of you try?

Yeah its worse as the revs go up when sitting still, cant really notice it when moving / driving.

I havent tried rocking the engine by hand, was late for work this morning so didnt have a chance to look.

Basically if you are able to rock the engine then it will be an engine mount, however if the car is down on power as well then it would likely be coilpack misfire, I imagine the first suggestion would be more accurate though tbh.

Its not down on power that i can notice. I'll go out in a bit and see if i can rock the engine by hand.

    Thanks for the help guys.

Ok, been out and had a look around it...

I can move the engine by hand, not loads but when i rev it slightly it moves a few cm's.

Seems to be moving on the drivers side, the mount under the ECU.

Very common for the ecu side mount to go, the bolt through the middle snaps in two. Just need to source a new one. Usually people on here selling them

    Hope its just that.

Has anyone got a pic of what the mounts look like?

Is there 2 mounts on the drivers side?

    Its fixed...

Buffer was dead, mount was nearly dead and the bolt had snapped!
