Emissions help pls, I've searched but nowt

Hey all, my car has failed on emissions and it's a lot more then usual. The HC should be 0.20 to pass well on the machine it says it's 6 when revving it and shoots up even more if idling. The co gets to passable revving but shoots up when idling and the lambda is around 6 I think? Replaced the cat but I'm assuming my lambda is faulty? I had to extend the wires cos I put on a 4-1 manifold and wouldn't reach so I've maybe buggered the wiring up?

Also fitted a 106 intake mani, injectors etc could this be the cause?

Sorry, it's pretty obvious that it's over fueling but don't know what could be causing it.

Guessing you soldered the joins in the wires?

There is your problem mate. You are not suppose to solder lambda wires as they are stainless steel and the solder makes a fluctuation in the wire giving a false reading to the ecu.

You need to cut the solder out and use the proper lambda crimp's to join the wires. (you also need to use stainless wire to extend them)

Also get a decent Fuel system cleaner such as castrol or forte. And go for a long run of about 40-50 miles to clean out the system and burn all the shit out of your cat.

Ah I thought maybe I'd fucked it but didn't know that, is there not a lambda off another Citroen or car I could use that has longer wires so I don't need to fuck about? I shall do as you say tho mate and go get that shit and hopefully get that bitch passed haha. Canny drive it as it's out of mot.

Cool, much appreciated. What about the wire, cos I've searched for stainless wire and doesn't come up with anything for wiring just the likes of throttle cables etc.

Go to a scrapyard and cut one from any car you like. If you ask them they will prob's have some in the back that you can have for beer tokens.

Smart idea, shall go now. My local one would only sell me a whole sensor for £30 which I was unwilling to pay. How do other people do it? Is the secondary lambda on the later models the same as the primary?
