    Hi all.

My saxo is playing up on cold start(fine when warmed up)i`ll explain 1st thing in the morning I have to start it with my foot on the gas if I don`t it cuts out. After a few minutes theres a sudden surge of power & I can take my foot off the gas,but still misfires for a few minutes until warm.

Its had the following new parts.

Coil pack, crank sensor lambda sensor new leads plugs & a new map sensor.

Plus has been fully serviced with all new filters(fuel filter included)+new coolant temp sensor & air temp sensor.

    Cheers.

only other thing i can think that i changed when i had this issue was my injector (spi engine) which cured it. . so perhaps check if all your injectors are working. Not sure how'd you'd do that though :/

Mine does same but mine you have to wait for it to warm if you rev it cuts out its automatic choke sticking on mine try that.

    Dear Stevo.
So sorry to hear about your poor cold starting Stevo
I know exactly what you mean, about the revs being approximately 1200
rpm when the engine is " cold " and should as the engine warms up a bit, it
    should then drop down to a " base-idle " setting. ( ie;- 900 rpm )
My daughters Saxo ( despite all of her current problems. which I am still
working on sorting out somehow. ) she starts " first-turn-of-the-key " and
without any throttle at all Stevo and the only sensors that were renewed
were the crank sensor and the coolant sensor for the E.C.U in the thermostat
    housing.
Unfortunately, I don,t know which sensor is resposible for the " fast-idle "
but I am sure somone a bit more clued up than me Stevo, should be able to
identify which sensor it may be.
Have you tried to disconnect any sensors to see if one is not having any
    effect on the engine ?
    I hope this helps Stevo
    Vince/

I would have said the ect but you've already changed that, must be something with one of the sensors i would have thought tbh.
