    Is it possible to gain 140brake through modding a VTR??

    What kind of gains can you gain from different mods??

    only if you have about £4000.00 spare in your wallet.

    turbocharger / supercharger conversion.

    EDIT: for £4000.00 you can buy a car with factory fitted turbo with over 250+bhp

    none turbo mods:

    enclosed induction kit / relocated induction kit : £80-120
    4-2-1 / 4-1 manifold : £120-350
    De-Cat : £50-80
    Full Through Exhaust : £200-350
    Cam : £250-350
    ECU REMAP / Chip : £200-350

    Total it all up plus add fitting labour it works out over £1000+ easy, and for a £1000.00 you can buy a car thats quicker, more reliable, more creature comforts. (no car name / brand mentiond !!!!)

    cams - price - bhp+

    I know someone who had stupid power out of a N/A VTR, but I won't say how much because everyone will call me a bullshitter.

    turbo / supercharger (basic setup) will see you around 140 / 150 bhp - put it this way, the deeper your pockets, the more bhp when it comes to turbo / super charging a vtr.....£6000.00 will see in the ultimate section of this.

    the other non turbo/super charger mods, all together will see you around 120-130 bhp, a wee bit quicker then a standard VTS, but if the VTS had the same mods, then bye bye baby......

    I think i will look at the possibility of moddin a saxo normally..

    What will i need to do??

    Cams - but as its 8v does this mean i only have 1 cam...

    I would get...

    raceland 4-2-1 manifold
    Bmc induction
    Magnex/scorpion system

    yes, 1 cam, either go for KENT or PIPER cams. Your other choices are fine.

    harrus pm cammedvtr and see what exact setup hes running and what power hes gained. i would change the pulley aswell. i think hes had a head job aswell, and maybe a gmc 4-2-1

    Ok..... i'v explained already...... but here goes again......

    with what you listed you need to get the ECU remapped, i.e. tunned accordingly to the mods you have listed, basically once a 'CAM' is fitted, you can drive the car, but you wont get the most out of it, hence, after fitting a CAM normally you would get the ECU remapped at the same time too.

    like i said, it will see you around 120-130 bhp depending on you engines current state, how good it is / was built + who does the job. So many other tweaks here and there but i'v listed the main ones.

    Yup, PM him, nice chap, his got a mk1 black vtr its nice, and his can leave a standard VTS ! off the mark and more... his the one i took the idea of 'relocating the air filter' instead of the much more expensive and imho pretty pointless for what they cost 'enclosed induction kits'.

    well the history of the car is alittle shady like so

    magnex full system
    magnex de-cat
    ashley 4-2-1 manifold
    itg filter
    polished and ported head
    apart from that i do not know?????

    maybe its got one of those ebay (give my car 30bhp!!!) superdoper chips!!! hehe

    Of course he likes it, just chat to him on msn !, he does all the work himself too lucky peewee, save's loads ££££££, dont think he would do anything different, well not major major, its sound as a pound and he has a wild cam too !

    lol, like i said earlier, depends on how good the engine is too, how well it was built.
