Brake problem

    1997 1.4SI Saxo Automatic.

Failed it's MOT as rear brake cylinders were leaking and contaminated the brake linings.
I replaced the cylinders and linings but when I put it all together and went to road test it I found that the front brakes were now virtually useless. When I press the brake pedal I can feel the rear brakes working and the rear of the car goes down before the front brakes connect but barely work.
I have checked the front pads are moving in the calipers and copper greased all moving parts. I have also tested the servo and bled the entire system again. I followed the correct bleeding pattern.
I'm now stumped as to what the problem could be as I didn't touch the front brakes at all before the problem arose.
    Any ideas would be welcome.

It really does sound like they're not bled properly I'm afraid. I know you say you've done it again, but it might be worth another go tbh.

as above, just sounds like they need a good bleed.

Thanks both. I'll bleed them again but I've already pumped 2 litres of fluid through the system with a power bleed kit and the pedal feels firm with no excess travel.
I'll post back with the result.

Re - bleed without the power bleed kit mate tbh they are quite possibly the worst invention in the auto trade.

I always thought they were supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread?

Is it a Saxo thing or does it apply to all makes?

Yeah whats wrong with the bleeding kits? To really firm them up if you are having problems, I find a quick manual bleed after helps
