Thought the R/S brakes where the same on the Furio.

There is 2 different ones from the 20 GTi that fit, 266mm and another one, can't recall what size, 283mm possibly?

I assume you got a good set of disc's and pads allready? No point in getting huge brakes with shit pads and disc's

your fiesta weighs less than 900 kilos? guess they do as they rust like buggery

are you really sure you need more stopping power for your 75 bhp? improve the grip with decent tyres and suspension first, then fit better brake pads.

Yeap, the fiesta zs is one of the heavyest fiestas mine is the lowest trim model that only weighs 920kgs with everying in and shes striped out.

after xmas it will have a 1.6 with cams headwork full exhaust ect and suspension it will have a full spax kit with full polybush set and vts anit roll bar with good rubber and wheels.

lol im running 300mm up front with ds2500 pads black dimond combi discs with braided lines all round and 280mm on the rear, i could easly out brake every std ford and most track pugs/saxo in fact a track 106 gti and a 206 gti couldnt keep up with me on a trackday 2 weeks ago lol and im not running dull power just i will leave it to the very very last second to brake lol.

on fords 300mm is avrage lol, its fitted to all mk3 mondeos as std lol but im running focus st170 caiplers which have bigger pistons and much better choice of pads.

266mm big :/ thats small in fact thats close to the smallest size you can get on a ford lol, one lad has pointed out about 280mm (ish) braieded lines upratted pads and discs are a must, what car is the 23mm m/c from?
    thanks

well this is Citroen not ford so theres a difference already as ford have a bigger variety! i'd go for 266 with braided lines from master cylinder which should be a 23mm that you get from a vts or gti (i think) then put some 5:1 fluid in and you got a good setup! then theres brake pads and disc's but that depends on what its used for e.g daily or track!

well thats funny since all derv fords between 2001 and 2007 used pug engines lol (not sure if there still using them) and only two fords use 300mm and bigger not even the escort cossie had 300mm's thay only ran 280 lol and ford use bosh caiplers just as citroen does.

Ok thanks i didnt know there was a bigger m/c on the saxos one of them will be coming next week, brakes wise i was going to run ds2500 pads with black diamond combi discs with braided lines and 5.1 brake fuild just didnt know what caiplers to use, ive got some saying 266 and some saying 280 (odd) but ill think ill go with the 280s that one member has offered me but still thanks for the advise

Well i never got the last two cars to the full spec i wanted, the first one i was running 220bhp n/a with cage carbon firbe panels and so on but i got rid of it after three months and the fiesta is at the point now where it only needs more power which i do have a spare 200bhp 185lb/ft engine to drop in it lol but it needs a custom drivers mount but im to busy latly with work and kids to do any work on it lol, what i tend to do is buy a car strip it build it back up with new parts do a few trackdays and get rid then start all over again lol.

Its not a daily car as i already have an astra H for that but i dont think i want it for a track car either (safety issues) think for the first time in 7 years i mite have it as a show/weekend car (just something thats fast and dont brake the bank but looks mint at the same time)

how do you know this isnt down to driving skill?? also 206 gtis are slower than a 106 gti/vts so it is less likely to keep up lol

i think you'll find most people in motorsport stick to the std 247mm brakes with decent pads and discs, people dont usually do this on road cars as that is the most expensive option really as decent spec pads and discs will be much more expensive and powerful than a oem spec bigger brake conversion ie the 206 gti 266's, gti 80/gti-6 283mm set up etc

they stick to the oem calipers and disc size to keep unsprung weight down

then the next step is usually aftermarket light wieght calieprs which means you can go up a size but still not add weight

i currently run heavy 283's as im not overly bothered about unsprung weight but as i said first oem brakes with good pads/discs/hoses and fluid is the best option out of the pug/cit range but is expensive its not jsut about what is the biggest disc you can bolt on for pub talk
