Okay so I had a noise coming from the right hand side when I accelerated, I got it diagnosed as the drive shaft, so when I lowered my car yesterday i changed the shaft, annoyingly the noise is still there but just slight less but more consistant?! Any ideas people? Could it be my wheel bearing as it hums slightly? But it's really Mitchum when accelerating and turning right!!
Noise still there!!!!

#2Well what kind of sound is it? Low constant rumble? Pitch changes or differs with speed or when turning? Most likely wheel bearing if you've changed the shaft as that eliminates the cv joint.

#3Ross, say if you're goin around a large roundabout at 40 then as soon as any pressure is put on the throttle its like a rumblin sound with a humming added to it? It's strange because it still sounds like the boot lol, I have a spare strut that I know the bearing is alright in, I will have to swap that over today and see if it makes a difference

#4Well you've got a load because of the roundabout. When you speed up, your increasing the load on the left bearing more as weight is transferred to the front left wheel. so typically you'd expect the wheel taking the load to be more noisy. But it might be when it's loaded it's quieter and coming off load is freeing up the bearing allowing it to make more noise.
It's deffo the offside that the noise is coming from is it? -
#5Yea 100% it's the left side, basically it's when I turn right and put it under load it makes the noise, pretty frustrating because it sounds pretty much the same as before :/ if not a little bit worse because of it being lowered now I think there's more stress on whatever is making the noise

#6Right side sorry

#7Just had the car up, absolutely no play or noise coming from the wheel bearing?! Ideas anyone?

#8Hi I've got the same problem. So far I've changed the driveshaft droplinks wishbone. I'm thinking it's the wheel bearing there is no play in it but when I changed the driveshaft it had the wrong type shaft fitted so im guessing it's knackered the bearing. Im just going change the complete strut n see what happens. Good luck

#9Usually the opposite wheel bearing or both sides drive shaft tends to knock if gone

#10Right I've just been out for a 10 mile drive, and it's making this noise as soon as I accelerate mildly hard, but not left, it's only does it in a straight line as when I turn right? Not left, it's a loud rumbling noise and it sounds like its transisting though the body too!! It's quite concerning

#11Are all engine mounts ok mate

#12sounds like passenger bearing.Quote:Right I've just been out for a 10 mile drive, and it's making this noise as soon as I accelerate mildly hard, but not left, it's only does it in a straight line as when I turn right?
