No reverse please help !!

   Today I've fitted my new (secondhand) gear box today I've took for granted that my mate said it was ok and still swears that the gearbox was ok when it come off his car. Anyway I've fitted it and no reverse but all forward gears ok. Do anyone know what could be wrong ! Thanks

   Can you select reverse and it jumps out or does it just not select anything at all ?

   It doesn't go in at all running or not running :/

   i would say youve got a problem with your gear linkage, get your car in the air and get someone to try and select reverse while looking under the car.
   
   May just be something simple

   In what respect mate? The 3 links are new but is it possible to get them wrong way round and if so would I get all other gears ? Cheers

   the linkage may not be correct but if its all moving fine then its most prob the gearbox, but i dont have an idea as i cant see or look lol

   As above get under the car and try and select reverse, its either your linkages or the box is shot.

    I had this problem after doing my clutch. Ended up that the exhuast wa just in the way!
