Rear Torsion bar... help

I have lowered the front myself on 40mm springs, now the torsion bar.
I think i have tried every place possible and only found 2 places that will lower the torion bar, first place is a local garage my cousin works at and has convinced them to do it but they said if it goes wrong i will have to replace bearings and possible other parts and second place being www.cituning.ltd.uk
Both want £200 to lower the torsion bar

Does this sound a good price, where else would be able to do it without saying "sorry we wont touch it" in the West Mids region.

200 is a mad price, my mate paid 130 at abp motorsport in nantwich for the torsion bar done, and his full suspension kit fitted

have a go ureself matey get ure cousin to help its easyier than ud think give me a shout if u need any advice

If you're willing to travel 1/2 hour theres a Pug Specialist in Nuneaton where i went to get mine done. Cost me £80 for torsion bar lowering. They let me use their hydraulic ramps aswel on a Saturday morning so i could do my front lowering myself.

i can do it if its not seized but its an arse of a job lol and i live down in Portsmouth so a tad bit too farr for you im sure.

Its not too diffacult if the bolts arnt rounded off and your torsion bars arnt seized in, if they are a garage will need to do it which may cost you a fair bit but not £200!

I was quated £150 to fit the front springs , unseize the torsion bar and lower the rear.

My mate will do your Torsion bar for £60 in Stafford let me know ill send you his number, he will do the whole car torsion bar springs dampers for £115. Let me know hes in the Midlands

He has lowered about 90 cars in Stafford area so believe me his work is excellent

When lowering the torsion bar, do you adjust the splines, i have been told that 1 spline = 20mm, so i need to adjust it 2 notches. I have booked it in to be done anyway but just wondered:thumbup:

i dont understand that method ATALL , in my books you remove the torsion bar so the dampers are released from pressure and arm becomes looser,jack the arm up to where you want it then put the torsion bar back in and it holds it at the new height. measure from diskbrake to top of arch and lower it desired height.

lol there are many problems involved with torsion bars it will take a day and it is an arse. However myself and rosey maybe able to do id have to ask him.

i think thats quite expensive my car is lowered 40mm just now, my uncle did my torsion bar its a horrible job lol , im booking my car in to peugeot ecosse they said they will supply and fit 60mm front springs and lower my torsion bar to 80mm for 200 i think that quite reasonble as it can be quite a hit or miss job what do think ?

decent price , i paid 70 for 70mm lowering springs and 120 to get them fitted and the torsion bar lowered.
