smoking but no power loss

    my saxo has a smoking problem and burns oil about 1 litre(full-min) every 2 months,but has no power loss at all runs pretty sweet.

    basically when you start it up in morning or mainly cold starting it pours out blue smoke from exhaust for a few mins then its fine.

    it also smokes after i pull off from traffic jams but doesn't smoke or smell when cruising

    i have a feeling its the piston rings gone but surely it would loose power and smoke constantly ?
    o and i also only getting average of 300 miles to a tank of fue is this normal for 1.1l?

    if anyone has any ideas what could be the problem could be wouldbe handy

    could also be steam seals or valve guides, more than likely the seals though

    Compression test should narrow the options down a bit

    300 miles to a tank?

    i was getting 480 no problem to a tank, it was a 1.1i spi
