saxo vts tuneup rebuild input help

So I've decided to re shell my vts engine and go for a mk 1 and fully restore it as a project but that aside I want to fully rebuild the engine and would like some tips I want to rebuild the engine with low compression for a turbo setup and have some head work done can someone help me and tell me what bits and what parts cams ect for the best setup I could run?? Cheers

What power do you want, what is your TOTAL budget, and what is your timescale (vs budget).

Standard cams are good for around 300hp - forget cams.

Its gonna be something to keep me busy for the next year or so so I can pretty much afford to do anything but I don't wanna go silly I still want to be able to drive the car socially when its done

That doesn't tell me anything tbh other than you're doing this over a long time

Will this be off the road whilst you build it? How much can you put towards it each month etc? What's your end goal? Speccing a 500hp lump is very different to speccing a 250hp lump.

Well I'm in no rush I'm not gonna plower my wages every month into it lol well some months maybe haha I have about 800 a month I can plow into it but as I said I'm in no rush I heard a 500 bhp saxo wouldn't be very practical? Like I put my toe down andfind my self in a big clowd of smoke moving nowhere I'm looking for some imput as practicality aswel I want it to be evo quik give or take? Car will be garaged and engine is gonne be on a stand

Evo quick would be 200 or so. 250+ shits on standard evos. Easily doable. This power figure allows smaller (faster spooling) turbos and higher compression (better for low end power/spool). You can also save on things like rods if you dont want the expense of those (just run arp rod bolts in standard rods).

Theres plenty of threads on here of people that have that sort of spec - have a rummage round and ask specific questions when you've got them.

That's it wasn't exactly sure what I'd need to do was hopin for a helper of what to start with this will be my first rebuild and I want to do the engine frome top to bottom and I'm not sure of the X = Y changes for strength to power upgrades ect ide of changed camms and you say I don't need to lol
