remapping question

  1. #1
Hi i recently got a 206 xsi 1.6 16v. Engine is similar to c2 vts engine. Just wondering how much power i would gain with a remap. But mainly want to know if it will pull better lower down in the revs as all the power seems to come in one big lump around 4k revs. It does not feel like its 110 bhp. Never had a remap done before so new to this. Cheers.

Re maps on na cars are pretty much pointless without other mods mate.

make sure the cam timing is correct, and don't forget its a bit heavier than a spaxo.

There's quite a bit different on the VTS engine, cams valve springs and pistons, far better inlet manifold, it is the same as the VTR/GT engine though.

Ok so id be better off spending the money on a better maanifold and a decat?. It just feels restricted compared to the vtr. Thought it would be as quick if not quicker than the vtr.

Could i stick a vts inlet manifold on it straight swap? And throttle body?

    I believe you could indeed.

Ive looked into this a bit and people say they run rough without a remap with the vts inlet manifold on. Or are they talkin shite??
