GTI VTS VTR Furio Rear anti roll bar

    Just a query,

Whats the size difference between each one?

Basically whats the best to get?

I'm gathering they produce less oversteer more understeer, so on my furio which i think has 19mm bars as standard. If i upgraded the rear arb and front arb to a gti arb all round would that produce a better handling car than just on standard or is there not much in it?

Another thought how easy is it to actually roll a saxo. Basically not hitting a curb or a gravel pit, a fast corner there must be a limit?

I upgraded the rear axle on my furio to a gti one, so had the 24mm arb iirc?
Definitely made a difference in body roll etc. I didn't touch my fronts so couldn't comment on those.

    Aren't gtis 22mm?

iirc gti is 24mm, vts is 22?

how come the gti arb is bigger? then the vts?

Stiffer rear bar means more over steer, lots of the threads on hear seem to lean more towards the 22mm bar especially with stiffer dampers

Reading some threads on here it seems some cars came fitted with whatever they had to hand

I'll have to measure mine, as the beam came off GTi

Pretty unlikely you'd roll the car just going round a corner unless you had some seriously sticky rubber on (no road rubber, or even track day stuff. Some seriously sticky tyres would be needed). And even then it would only be if you got a load of oversteer and it suddenly gripped. I wouldn't really worry about rolling it on a track corner.

Less roll, did the back step out more or less?

Not sure maybe more of an expensive car?

I thought stiffer rear arb was less over steer more understeer, and a stiffer front arb means more oversteer?!

Thanks for the info, i went on Lydden hill race track and the back end i could feel getting twitchy around 60-70mph mark sweeping bend. I'm not sure if this was to do with body roll itself. If i had a stiffer arb would this cure it? Would it feel more planted so i could be more confident as a driver?

Thanks for all the replies, trying to understand what the best setup is and what i can gain etc. Any additional replies from any other experience to keep the thread going would be a great help...

I got both vts and gti arb's here and they both have totally different feel to them. All depends on what you are wanting to set the car up for and your driving style.

I found the 24mm felt more planted but you can feel the inner rear tyre lift on hard conering.

Bedford did you also have front gti arb?

So the gti one you can corner harder would you say?

Yeah I have both the vts and gti.

Its ok saying that you can corner harder it all depends on how your driving. I have had my arse fall out around corners with both the vts and gti arb's. But the rear end was deffo more rigid with the gti bar. My car is only lowered 35mm though.
