How to Replace PAS Pump

  1. #1
    Hi Guys,

I have bought a PAS pump off ebay as my current PAS is just awful, it comes and goes and gets quite dangerous when it kicks in half way through turning a corner...

I am just wondering how hard is it to swap these out? I cant see the power connector being any trouble, looks a big hard to get at so I suppose ill jack the car up a bit.

What about the pipes coming out the top? are they hard to get off? are they going to p!ss everywhere when they come off?

Any sort of guide/help would be great

Piece of piss mate, took me half hour to do it, the bolts on the bracket are abit awkward to undo but not too bad, give it a go mate and you'll get there!

Cheers mate, did you attack it from the top or get under the car?

Best from under the car mate.

    from under

its like 2 or 4 bolts holding it on, and like 3 pipes which need disconnecting. And also the electrical plug

yeah some fluid might piss out but just catch it with something lol

you might need to bleed the air out afterwards, which just involves steering it from lock to lock with the cap off

    Hi Guys,

Bought a Pump off ebay for about £40, looks nice and clean however one of the pipes looks like they were cut off instead of being taken off properly by the clip, I can see why though as I have NO idea how to get this clip off, any ideas?

Carefully either cut the clip off with side cutters or use pliers. Then when it comes to re-connecting use a jubilee clip.

Thank you, it seems like quite a strong clip, I will try bending it open somehow to get it off, I just hope theres not one on the one thats actually in the car!
