went to go up to visit my mum yesturday and on the way the car jerked and died tried to start it but there was a continuous click noise from what i think is the ecu unit when i turn the key more the starter motor going but doesnt fire up what i have noticed is the light for the key on the dash starts to flash when trying to start engine tried the fuel cut out rest and still nothing. all my lights work so battery is fine. just need a quick fix so i can trade it for a better car as it is only a t reg and paid £350 plus a further £250 for new clutch and brakes. lol

I'm finding it hard to understand what you say the problem is can you give a bit more detail? It cut out and then wouldn't start again but it turns over?

try a reset by disconnecting the battery overnight and try again in the morning. How much petrol do you have left in it

Hi All, I have a 97 1.1x Saxo (less to go wrong). Unfortunately Friday afternoon brought the doom of a starting issue.
I have done as follows - got in the car and tried to start it. No signs of any issues but will not fire.
The immobiliser turns green, the fuel pumps makes it whizzy noise but it will not fire and no amount of pressing the accelerator pedal will make any difference! Any ideas?

    try push starting it.

    Sounds like a spark problem

How do you mean spark problem? If it was spark problem then fuel would be going in and dumping into the exhaust but this is not the case!

Have you got fuel coming.through to the fuel rail? If thats the case then could possibly be a spark problem, eg. Coil pack playing up
