Hi all just a question. If I remove the connector from the black box under the passenger side dash will this completly dissable the alarm? Or if I remove my battery in the engine and re connect will this then arm it again? My key fob has gone that's why I want to disconnect the alarm because if it arms its self e.g when reconnecting the battery I can't turn it off. Is the correct way to disarm it to remove the connectors from the black box? Cheers

#3Ok people i have disconnected both of the connectors from the alarm ecu thingy (black box under passenger side dash) anybody have any idea if this has completely disabled my alarm? im too chicken to disconnect my battery and see what happens haha.
Any comments welcome -
#4You not have the sensor button on your dash because thatl disable the alarm anyway providing you have the key turned in the ignition

#6lol yeah i have that button but that only turns off the sensors. i want to be able to completely disconnect the whole alarm system. As said before my key fob is not working so if i change my cars battery it will automatically turn the alarm on and i wont be able to turn it off.

#7the black ecu thingy. ecu and black box are two separate things. The ecu is under your bonnet and is the main computer for your car just like a processor in a computer. You don't even need to go to the extreme of disconnecting the black box, plug it back in, press the disarm button and confirm alarm is disarmed and doors are open then disconnect your old battery and install the new. That way when the new battery is on the alarm wont go off as the last command you gave it was to disarm.
When taking battery off take + off first then neg
leave the car off with no battery for 20 mins for the air bag system
When re installing start with - then apply the +
Re arm the car and your done easy.
