Front inner arch securing bolt/clip - help ???

  1. #1
Over the last 2 years I've replaced each of the long plastic retaining bolt/clips that go in to hold the back bottom of the front inner arches on both Saxos as they'd come loose and fallen out.

I've just noticed that the VTS has lost another one of these long bolt/clips on the drivers side - I guess that the hole it goes in is worn and hence not holding the bolt/clip well enough.

Does anyone have another solution for holding the inner arch in place at the back/bottom other than buying another of these long plastic bolts/clips (which are stupidly expensive for a piece of plastic).

I'm guessing a cable tie could work if I can get a couple of holes made in the right place?

    Any ideas please?

Put the clip in with some tigerseal around it mate.

Thanks Stevo - Can't get tigerseal in France but will find something similar and see what I can do. Will still look for a cable tie option as well as these stupid bits of plastic are too expensive to replace as often as I have been.

Took the wheel off today and have added a cable-tie to the top side of the inner arch and another right at the bottom of the rear side. Not going anywhere now the stupid arch.

I will still buy one of the long rear plastic bolts/screw/clips and whack it in with some glue/mastic. I did note that the rubber grommet it goes into is actually a "closed" cone therefore the bolt will only push in as far as the end of the cone. Did not think that this was long enough so have cut a slot in the end of the cone and will see if the bolt pushes in further and therefore holds the arch better.
