i have a 3plug vtr that runs, eg have everything, and a phase 1 1.4 single plug.
anyone know what it would be like to swap them?
ive done swaps before but never messed with looms much so any info would be great!
    cheers matt.

You either need to swap all the wiring from one to the other

That's EVERYTHING! And is totally stupid idea which takes the piss (ppl still do it)

    Or

The engine loom detaches from the bay at the front of the passenger side of the bay

You need to get the plug on that end.. Swapped onto the new engines loom

so does the 3 plug loom attach to the single plug interior loom and work?

i havnt done it on saxos but ive done it on loads of other cars, its abit of a pain as you need to remove everything from the inside of the car and change the internal loom as well as the engine bay loom and you will need to change the clocks as well (me thinks) on your own with basic tools you can change it all and refit everything in less than a day.

Its not hard mate as the loom will only go in one way really, Its not like you can fit it in the wrong way round and not notice lol (its not like you going to try and fit the tail light loom in the front of the car lol)

yeah i can imagine, ive done looms on old fords before, would imagine it will be similar.
il add its for a reshell, so the whole car will be stripped.

well it would be the same one main loom coming in and around the dash area and then it mite have two of three that lead up the side of the car (normaly one up the one side then one up the other then one in the middle and sometimes thay all join again under the seats)
