I have heard it makes no difference, but I always put them on with the grooves running from centre outwards

Ive just had a look on the net now my phone is letting me and they say to have the grooves leaning towards the rear of the car. Guess it doesnt make any difference on a 100bhp saxo tbh.

I ran them the 'wrong' way for years.

your only running them the right way now because we swapped struts and couldn't be fucked to change disks

I've always read that the grooves should be canted backwards from the centre of the hub, as to channel dust away. However some disc designs you can even do that with as the grooves are all over the place.
    Plain discs are better anyway!

Plain disks are better for stopping power but prolonged high breaking periods like track use then drilled and groved are better as they remove the heat quicker and also prevent the glazing effect and therefore extend the period before brake fade kicks in :-)

Care to do some tests of cheap plains vs drilled and grooved on your new pads?
