VTS Temperature up and down (never above half though)

   Hi guys,
   
   Recently my VTS would never get to the operating temperature, so I replaced the thermostat, this appeared to cure the problem. However, a couple of months down the line this happened again, so I replaced the thermostat thinking the previous one was faulty - but it's doing it again!
   
   Basically, the needle gets to the halfway point, then drops, then goes back up the halfway point and repeat lol.
   
   What else could this be, as surely it's not the thermostat again?

   Temp sensor's prob's fucked.
   
   You can test thermostats by dropping them in boiling water.

   Yeah it just unscrews from the stat housing/head
