01 VTS - Full lock, creates a strange sound!

    When I full lock, I get a high pitched chime / squealing sort of sound on full lock..

    Then when Im driving, and sitting in traffic for example, I get this sort of rubbing sort of sound, and I can feel restirction on my pedal, and when I hit a certain amount of revs it clears.

    Any ideas?

    The noise on full look will be the PAS pump mate, other one is strange not your alternator bearings failing isit?

    I thought the lock would be the PAS, but the rubbing sort of feeling, it comes off on my pedal, I can feel it in the gas, soon as I push the revs up it clears, its not a like limp mode, it its a rubbing sound, it almost sounds like tyres are on lock and rubbing in arches, but this is when im just parked in traffic, or at lights for example, it also done it when driving, but not as much its weird

    Would the bearings on my Alt cause me to have like a 'drag' feeling on the car?

    If the bearings are going on the alternator,then you`ll loose power.Also check the tension of the drivebelt because if you over over tension it then you`ll strain the alternator bearings causing them to fail.
