Intermittent Indicators

  1. #1
    Hi

Bought a couple of weeks ago saxo desire 1.1. Found the horn didnt work and also the indicators sometimes didn't (hazzards at the same time). Dealer didnt want to know (surprise) so got a second hand indicator stalk and scrappy fitted it and fixed horn but the indicators still sometimes dont work.

Can anyone give me a cheap fix please as pissed off already wasting money on it.

    Thank You

The indicator relay is located above the fuse panel, they do just go sometimes. A right pain to see!!

Depending on if its an already replaced one, i'd say its a black one next to an orange one. Shaped like a box with three spokes.

    Hope this helps.

What would be wrong with the exact same relay but from a scrappie,as opposed to a brand new 1?

All the stalks and relays on saxos and 106 suffer with moisture and high humidity levels. Winter and temperature drops are also a factor.

Tricks: gently warm up the stalk with a hair dryer. If you have a 106, just point the blower towards the stalk and drive on it. Leave a humidity absorber in the car for a few days and try to park where you get some sunshine to dry the car up.
