#2ABS light, so you've probably got a faulty ABS sensor
-
#3so whats the best thing take them out and give them a clean when i got the car it had been stood for 6 months i have just sorted the fauilty coilpack now just the abs light will this effect my braking at high speed
-
#4Means the ABS probably won't work.
Surely this is in the owners manual..? -
#5i payed pennies for the car mate there was no Manuel init
-
#6Highly doubtful cleaning will help to be honest, try and second hand sensor if you can find one or buy new.
No won't affect the braking at high speed but if its been stood the brakes could probably do with a quick strip down and check over/replace anything knackered anyway. -
#7will get onit tomoz take a look i also need to replace a snapped coil on the nearside so while the wheels of i can have a look what sort of upgrade can i do is there a bigger brake kit i can find on different car?

#8406 brembos.
-
#9take it there of the pug 406 is there a specific model and are thay direct fit
-
#10the 406 brembos are a direct fit, but not the common choice as they are quite harcore to be fair. And people always seem to get the dreaded brake squeal
the common choice are 266mm brakes from a 206gti or berlingo which are ample
or if you want more, then 283's from a 306gti6 -
#11Dreaded? Fucking cool IMO

#becauseracecar
LOL. -
#12oh are they liked lol? i thought people were forever trying to get rid of the squeal with different discs
-
#14266's will be more than enough braking power for the road. In fact standard 247 size is ample with decent pads and discs.
The 406 brembos arent cheap but look awesome.
Good information on brakes here
http://106owners.co.uk/forums/showth...ter%20cylinder -
#15yeah ive always had mintex/brembo solid discs and mintex pads with my vtr brakes, with some decent fluid and they've been fine for the road
-
#16i treat the road like a track hence my brakes not up to the job so what model 406 can find these brambo's
-
#17Get on a fucking track then not the road!! And standard brakes are good with right choice pad. Even on the road it hard to get the car as hot as if it on a real circuit.
-
#18planet sized calipers are not the answer here, good pads and fluid is
-
#19im already have yellow stuff pads's and pritty sure the fluid is good
-
#20How well bled is the system? Yellow stuffs are a good pad, not quite sure how you are killing those on the road
-
#21think is possible heat mate but the stopping power at 100+ is none it takes for ever to slow down, but saying that on my last car i had ap callipers so maybe its the fact im not used to stock
-
#22Driving like a cock I bet!! Look at a previous post he posted if you want to drive like your on a track get on a track!!
-
#23If your getting the brakes very hot like you say I bet your fluid is burnt which will not help. I change my fluid after 2 to 3 track days And that using a good 5.1 fluid.
-
#24Not like a cock. there is time and a place and i due to where i live the time is pretty much all the timeQuote:Driving like a cock I bet!! Look at a previous post he posted if you want to drive like your on a track get on a track!!
thanks i will drop out the old crap and replace with some fresh, any recommendation on what is best -
#25I use motul 5.1 in both my cars and its good stuff. Think they do a higher spec one again to what I use though but an unsure of name
