just an enquiry really tried looking but couldn't find a straight forward answer well my sax is lowered 60mm on front and i want to go lower just for stance im getting some 13'' star mags so im just wondering how much more i could go, and still be a daily ride? i struggle in some areas as it is but a little bit of scrape never hurt anyone
and im say about 80 on the rear. thanks
how low can you go?

#2Surely that's dependant on where you live for example, I could probably get away with about 20mm ground clearance where I drive.
-
#3well i live not in a good place lots of bumps im just thinking would it be able to move with 13'' wheels and low pro's i still get over any bump just takes time

#5get yourself some gaz gha coilovers. order some custom 5" springs from Faulkner. that gives you the ability to go 90mm maybe more. once fitted you can just adjust the ride height to suit the area you drive in.
-
#6I've seen (and ridden in) a 106 that was down 100mm on the front and 120mm on the back. Not practical but it was low.
-
#7One of the problems with going low is the power steering pipe gets in the way and it splits, I get this and I'm only down 50mm on the front so I'm not sure how others get away with it being lower than that.
-
#8I have 2 friends that drove their phase1 106's at 100mm drop. They planned their routes where no speed bumps were
-
#9usually people bend it out of the way a bit or i think you can change to a mk1 style pipe?
-
#10This is correct. My old one was quite low (not sure exactly how low though) and my steering pipe burst so i replaced it with the same again (mk2) and just fitted it so it had clearance.Quote:usually people bend it out of the way a bit or i think you can change to a mk1 style pipe?
Something to take a look at when you do go low though. Its easy if you do it before it bursts -
#11if you use mk1 VTS pipes they clear very easy

#13

thats how low mine is on mags, scrapes alot but if you just take it easy over speed bumps etc you should be okay -
#14my mk1 pipe had to be moved out the way

seancrutchley- its hard going low on smaller wheels due to the ground clearance. My cars at 90mm but with 15's and the ground clearance is a tight squeeze but still driveable. I imagine it would be near impossible with 13's. Only lowered 60mm on 13's and the cars nearly on the deck.
Get a set of gaz coilovers and have a play with it. You might be surprised. Wound up the top its 25mm i think and wound all the way to the bottom is roughly 65-75mm
Not thought about 14's? -
#16I think it needs to be a VTS pipe. they clear the steering arms completely.
-
#17Ahh I see, ill have to look into that.
Thanks
