manifold bolts shearing

    bought an 03 vtr and 3 of the botlts on the manifold are sheared how the hell do i get them out the head now?

    help greatly appreciated

    A drill and bolt extractor kit might do it, depends how tight they are

    they sheared flush with the manifold so bout 20mm of thread still sticking out cant for the life of me get them out tried heating and mole grips

    if you take the manifold off is there any thread showing or is it flush with the head?

    its flush with the outside of the manifold

    Right - so with the manifold removed, you can see stumps of the studs still in there. It should be enough for a stud extractor to get on it.

    as said, take manifold off and you will be able to extract the broken studs

    can sell a brand new set of studs and nuts for £11.12 plus delivery

    did you remove the manifold and use mole grips on the remaining threads?

    new head should be last option
