Battery Problem? Car shaking/ charging

    This has only happened twice until today of which it happened more than 8?

    Basically what happens is when I'm stationary for a while, my car starts making this very loud 'charging sound' as if the battery is low or needs more charge. it vibrates the whole car which is quite disconcerting. It lasts for about 10-15 seconds then goes. Today i happen to be in traffic for a very long time, barely moving of which it did it 8+ times and was rather concerning. Dosnt stop me driving etc. Once I get going again it dosnt happen

    I'm wondering if it means i need a new battery or perhaps it could be something to do with the alternator? (havn't replaced the battery since buying the car 3/4 years ago)

    Going to see my mechanic tomorrow when i get the chance but didn't know if anyone would have a clue?

    replacement or something that can be fixed?

    Only an auto electrician could tell you if its fixable by testing it mate.
