106 Rear Screen

Right got an annoying issue that my 106 has always had, the rear screen doesn't work.

Press the button and you can hear the 'clicking' sound, checked the fuses they are OK, checked the points on the screen itself and they are fine no corrosion, when I press the button it doesn't light up.

Could it be as simple that the button is knackered, gonna buy a voltmeter to see if voltage is getting to the screen to see if that might help me.

No need for a volt meter mate use a screwdriver(with a light in)If it lights up then theres power getting through. If thats okay before replacing the switch check & see if any of the screen wires are either kinked/trapped anywhere.

button should light up, it could be as simple as a loose wire, pull it out and have a quick look, takes all of 30 seconds.

problem doesn't sound screen related though as like you said, all contact points are fine.

Yeh well what I can't work out is how I'm getting a clicking sound when I press the button but nothing is happening I'll try to get a video and see if it is picked up by my phone.

Either the wires have come off behind the switch(check 1st)or the switch has had it mate because it should light up.

loose wire or fucked button, one of the two.

either way it's an easy fix
