#2make sure you check there is nothing lose on your exhaust system as this happened to me and was a lose bolt
-
#3Check the exhaust mounts and heatshields
-
#4Check the lower engine mount bolts.
I had a similar noise not long after i got my new clutch fitted. Checked under the car to see one bolt wasnt fully tight on the lower mount.. -
#5check to make sure that the vibrator in the glove box is turned off
-
#6£5 on the driver's side drive-shaft intermediate bearing being loose
.
(3 bolts holding the bearing to the back of the engine)
-
#7It seems like it's coming from the coil pack area. The top of the coil pack is loose.
-
#9Yes but I've held it done and reverse it up but makes no difference.

#10try replacing driver side engine mount see if the rubber has gone and the engine is vibrating on the chaise ....
-
#11Had a look at the engine mount and the rubber is cracked and looks totally knackered. How much would a a engine mount cost.
-
#12Is it the mount that runs from below the ecu to the engine, and if you wobble the engine is there any play?
If it is that mount, I have one from a 106gti for sale that I think fits, but would need someone to confirm it does fit first
