Engine management light 1.1

   After a long trip the engine management light came on, when I got home I popped the hood and noticed the induction pipe from the front intake to just before the 1st connection ( by the block ) had come loose and was hanging off.
   Would this cause the light to come on? as I know people run without the standard induction piping setup anyway.
   
   If it was this that caused the problem, how long before the light should go out?
   or should i reset it by unplugging the battery for a few minutes.

   It could possibly! Best bet, either take it to a garage and get them to read the ECU codes! Each garage charges differently (mine is £25) and see what it brings up, or buy yourself one off ebay.
