Fitted a beam but...

As above, my axle gave way this morning, a bit of a pain but I got another.

Aside that I'm gonna need to order some new bushes for it, it seemed to go well.

What confuses me is the oblong holes on the fronts, and the washers...

How do I get the axle straight for one, obv I don't wanna be crabbing down the road in a perfectly good car, also, I'm looking at doing the bushes ASAP for powerflex ones, what are these like to do? I'm sure the powerflex will be easier to put in than getting the old ones out anyway..

Also, when re assembling the car the washers confused me, the massive round ones.
I take it that on the front 2 bolts there's one on the top and bottom of the bushes with the round washerd bolts, and the rear ones only have a big washer on the top of the bush and use the square washerd bolt..? I'm usually observant but this Time undid the 4 and worried after!

    Cheers

Messure from the top of your arch to the cenre of the hub to see if its sat level. I've got powerflex bushes in mine, the old bushes wouldn't come out so got the gas out and burnt them out, clean and copper slip the holes and simply push the poly bushes in.

As for the big washers, there should be 6 iirc and 2 sqaure washers, the sqaure ones are so they don't toch on the shocks, you will realise what I mean when you try to put a big circle one on and it fouls on the top of the shocker.

    Hope this helps mate,

Great help thanks mate, what about actually getting the axle physically straight in the oblong holes? Or will it only actually fit straight?
