engine sitting high

   Hi all fiited 16v into vtr on group n mounts was told the engine was 106 gti bt not sure. the exhaust was hitting arb and bonnet hitting rocker sorted it by fitting spacers wasent to keen on the idea any 1 else had the proplem thanks

   Your lower rear gearbox mount is on the wrong way round.

   sounds like lower gearbox mount is wrong way round mate!
   take it off and flip it round then write back if its still broken.

   Had a look 2 day doesent look possible 2 put it on wrong if i flip it over in doesent reach the box and cant be back to front as it wont fit that way round could it just be the mounts that i have ?

   wrong bit, the bit bolted to the gearbox not the doglink.

   You may need to pull the engine to get the gearbox to line up with the mount.

    Also with the mount on the wrong way, you'll notice the exhaust manifold and cat/decat tries to exit via the gear linkages
