Don't think it's a problem because it very rarely does it. When I come to start the engine it makes a very loud grind noise and won't start. So I wait 5 seconds and try again it fires up fine. Any one know what causes this? Very very rarely happens though.

#2Sounds like starter motor is faulty.

#4At worse it could be ring gear on flywheel, I had a old sierra with the same thing and the pain is the gearbox has to come out to change and also need access to oxy/cet heat gear.

But as said.. Starter issue. Dont worry unless it does it more often than it starts
