Re-Programmin Central Locking Plip?

Sooo, when i bought the car it had a plip button thingy on the key ring, the car does have central locking and what seems to b e a receiver on the roof console (by the sunroof, interior light etc)

BUT....
It dosn't work? the previous owner did mention it has a newish battrery so could this be why ?...

I have tried opening the door with the key and pressing the button twice within 20 seconds, but no joy..

The led on the fob does light up when i press it so batteries in the fob are ok...

Any ideas guys ?.

Hi, it could need reprogramming if its not been used in a while. Most Citroen dealerships charge half an hours labour. It could be that theres damage to the circuit board which you might be able to get repaired, if not its a new key fob. Is there any damage to the buttons? It's a common fault for the buttons to be pressed in and it can knock off the contacts on the board?

I have a similar issue, only i dont have the receiver in the roof, I have a grey box behind the glove box, but I dont know whether its the remote or the receiver thats faulty. Question is.............how do I check when I dont know which is faulty and which is working?
