Losing coolant?

   I changed my thermostat a few weeks ago as it was faulty then bled the coolant back in and since then its been losing coolant slowly, I have filled it up to the max 3 times and its slowly crept back down to the minimum? I'm not sure if it was doing this before I changed the thermostat or not cause I never checked it as often before really..
   
   I have checked the oil cap for mayo as I thought maybe headgasket but that seems ok although not ruling out headgasket yet as the car has now done 110k, its a mk2 vtr by the way..

   any oil marks in the water or does it have a smell? is there a wet patch round the thermostat?

   does smoke a little when started up but i'm not sure if thats just the cold weather i'm going to keep my eye on the coolant anyway see if it keeps on dropping..

   water looks and smells normal as far as I can tell (difficult to see inside the rad) thermostat area is dry.

   Get the cooling system pressure tested it`ll soon reveal any leaks in the system mate.

   Its not unheard of for it to drop if you havent got all the air out, what method of bleeding did you use?
   Mine would drop a bit when I didnt bleed it proerply but after topping back up it settles at the upper mark

    checked it again yesterday and today and its not dropped anymore so fingers crossed it was just an air lock
