I was driving for a long time today ( about 3-4 hours )
i was in bedford and when i went to McDonald ( waiting in the drive through and some idiot bumped the back of me no damage though and has nothing to do with the issue lol )
i had food ( big mac meal ..... standard ) my car wouldn't start

it started eventually but then again when i was driving i lost all power ?
the engine was still on mut when i put my foot down it bogged down almost like i had no fuel ?

then waited a little while and it started again then 10 mins later bogged out again

it done this about 4 times i think it may be heat soak but not sure ?
here is a pic of my bay and how it stands atm i know that the engine will be sucking in hot air but is thi able to cause what i described ?

    please help guys and gals

I had similar problem before except no one went into the back of me in maccys drive through lol. Car would bog down and lose power from time to time until one day it just wouldn't start. Was the fuel pump packed up so could be that ?

If the problem persists pop in and see us. We're only in stevington which is not far from you and have a fully equipped workshop with proper diagnostic facilities. Find out what the problem really is as guessing at components can be very costly.

thanks for the reply Beaniemoo but my cousin owns a garrage here in corby but nothing comes up on diagnostics so i was just trying to see if anyone has had the same issue so as you put, i dont have to buy loads of costly parts for no reason

fuel cut off switch? It's an inertia switch and a large enough bump can trigger it, even if it feels mild to you inside the car

Red rubber button, top right of engine bay.

Try unplugging your lambda sensor sound like the problem i had with my vts
and drive with it unplugged and see if it solves the problem

i had same problem as you in my old vts, didn't have a bump in it though.
