steering stiff and heaters wont work

    My vtr mk2 steering ok.one min and next stiff and the heaters having worked at all since so whats the problem.is it the igntion bartel or the power steering pump ir even the alternator ? Need help

    When the engine is on is the battery light on on the dash?
    Whats the voltage from the battery?

    fuse box would be my first port of call, but yer could be the barrel.Have a search around the question gets asked quite alot

    The battery light goes off after i turn the engine on lights work just the heaters ant working or the power steering at times

    Its usually the barells knackered, easy fix, under the steering wheel is a cover, 2 t20/25 screws and it comes off, then you unplug the brown multiplug and splice the two brown wires together. Theres a guide on here under demister/pas/heater repair

    double check if the battery is being charged by the alternator!

    i had the same problem, sure my rear demister wouldnt work either?
    turned out the alternator was knackered

    Ok thanks ill try it and iv heard i could be the alternator but ill try both as iv checked the fuses there fine theres no leaks so next step.what u said

    Iv rewired the brown wires and it worked my heaters and steering so.much better thanks very much for the help :-)
