    hi guys

its really starting to get on my last nerve now my car wow start just a mad clicking noise and its not all the time some tie i will get in and it will start first time and also it 9/10 times it revs round 4/5000 revs but i have changed the icv for a brand new one its driving me mad ????

could it be the oil pressure sensor as i had to fix it when i put my 4-2-1 on as i had to do a oil filter conversion?????

any advice will be much appreciated

I really struggled to understand what you're saying if im honest.

Are you saying that the car DOES start sometimes, and not other times?

And when it does start, the revs are going upto 4-5K?

The revving issue would most likely be down to needing the ICV / TPS reset.

Cant remember how its done on these, but it will be something along the lines of pushing the throttle all the way down and releasing 4-5 times with the ignition on.

To stop it revving so high, turn the key to second click without starting the engine. Wait 10 seconds, turn key to off position, then repeat that 5 times but on the 5th turn start the engine. That should sort that I think.

Thats it! I couldn't remember as its been a while lol, its different for most cars.

If its ticking, assuming the battery is OK, i would pin this down to the starter motor not functioning correctly.
