Important! : Saxo VTS conversion nightmare

  1. #1
Hi all, bought a running vts engine from a member on here, fitted it all, wouldn't start, tried all the usuals, inertia switch, crank sensor, unlocked Ecu (from ryanmt) and still nothing, the car will sometimes start but only if you earth the fuel relay manually, as Ecu won't do that, but it cuts out straight away, it's from a 1998 VTS and I have a 1999 VTR both single plug Ecu. Would the plug under the headlight be different? Oh and all earths checked, run out of ideas now and considering breaking the car. Any help please!!

Oh and yes I have removed immobiliser before fitting Ecu

It sounds like all the Electrical side of things are working, I would look back to basics, such as plugs and injectors. could be a coilpack issue, dodgey injector etc. where in Devon are you?

Funny enough this is originally your engine I believe! Got it from a lad with a blue VTS called richard, I'm near barnstaple.

Is it?? Must of been a very long time ago, I can't remember the last time i sold a VTS engine. does it have White cam covers? If so that was originally in my RG so if its got that same loom then you need an unmodified VTS loom.
