Revs take ages to drop

    Hi,

    Ive got a MK2 VTR and ive heard all mk2s do this but when u rev the car the revs hesitate to srop back down and kinda hold them self up for a while; any ideas?

    Try cleaning your idle control valve mate,theres a guide on here.

    Ah right is that a common problem then? they expensive to replace?

    You`ll find mate that all saxo`s suffer from rev`s problems sometime in their life its a common problem.The part isn`t too expensive to replace(don`t go to citroen)Clean the icv 1st & see if it makes a difference.

    got enough slack on your throttle cable? mine didnt have enough and caused this

    This as well maybe adjust a lube up the linkage.

    Also check the butterfly is adequately lubed, i found mine to be full of gunk causing it to stick slightly allowing air to pass through.

    Took it all apart cleaned it to a shine and refit it, helped with my problem quite a lot, be warned though its a bugger to get it back in and positioned correctly, needs to be 100% or wont close properly at all !
