Not starting, ticking noise when turning ignition.

1.3 KA is not starting, tick tick tick when turning ignition.

Bump starts easily enough and everything is fine once started.

replaced battery and starter motor, but the same tick tick noise happens.

Once you turn it off, it will start again two or three times using the ignition but after it just ticks again.

    Any ideas? Thanks

sounds like you some sort of current drain or charging issue. Use a booster pack or jump leads to try and start it on the key. If that works measure the voltage across the battery. Should be around 14 Volts. If its lower than 12v I would say there is a problem with your alternator or you have a big current draw.

Do you run a sub and amp?

Check all attaching wires, I had the same problem on my transit and part of a wire had split and was just holding together

Alternators are in an awkward place on a KA I think, my girlfriends died on her car, you gotta take the bumper and light out I think

Pretty sure it is doable by someone with not much experience although not 100%.

Mate of mine was saying yesterday about when his car did this and it turned out that the radio was wired with constant power. Has the problem only just started? How long have you owned the car. You could try disconnecting the radio for a few days and see if the problem persists? You may need the radio code to get it working again tho!

check the earths under the bonnet, there could be a bad connection also check the feed wires going to the starter to check they have 12v going to them.
