How many miles is too many miles

   Hey getting back in process of modding the whip it's mk1 vtr with 115k on the clock still running on apart from power steering pump and starter motor and I'm ganna replace the clutch due to release bearing rattle lol so not much
   
   
   In all truth and honesty how many miles on a engine is too many when should I mayb replace of just let it go till it stops

   It means nothing to me, my car is on 213000 and its great. If its been looked after then you've got nothing to worry about.

   I don't know of its past I was hasty when buying I'm it's 8th owner lol but like I say still runs lovely apart from a few components failing

   Who knows plenty of them are on 160k and fine. Just look after it. Wait until it fails n drop another engine in, theyre pennies to buy.

   Considering the price of the engine is nothing I dare say the underbody is the real measure of when to bin it mate.

   saxos are killed by rot and lamp posts! milage means very little if im honest.
   engines cost so little its not an issue.
   
   look at the state of the underside, if you can poke holes in it, maybe look into a replacement.

   Mine did 174000ish hard miles. Only reason it went is because the gearbox shat it, and had finally reached the end of my tether so got a new car!

   as long as the body/chassis isn't rotten, you can fix it.

    I got 135000 runnin turbo conversion fr over 6 months and 10000 miles of hard driving the engine is running like a dream mate! These engines are built like a brick s#*t house! It's the body and electrical side that go wrong haha

    This keep the car well serviced change things like the cam belt etc & you`ll be fine mate.
