vts running issues

  1. #1
Right had this vts for about 2weeks and she ran fine for the first 6days.. when the engine is cold she runs fine no starting issues or loss of power etc.. when she gets warm if i put my foot down a lil its like ive turned the ignition off just get a deep droan noise and no power n then all of sudden she will kick in again... well i pulled into petrol station to fill up and now she wont start at all . Waited 10mins she started but ran very badly then cut out again... after 30mins i finally got her started but could hardly drive her as she kept loosing power n spluttering like mad... i dont get any warning lights on dash or anything which is strange... any clues peeps before i just go back to using the scoob as my daily cheers

This is exactly what my vts used to do, and it was the crank sensor,
Do the needles drop when it try's to cut out?

No mate needles dont drop its asif the coilpack gives up or its being starved of fuel.. thats what it feels like but i know its neither of them as coilpack is new and injectors are gettin fuel...

Sounds like a map sensor problem

From my experience with changing and testing every damn sensor on my vts, the crank sensor is the only sensor that will stop the engine from running when you unplug it.

Granted if you unplug other sensors whilst running it will run rough, especially the map
    Sensor,

My money is still on the crank sensor.

My money would be on the coil pack, they often do this when they get hot & nearing throw away time.

I also thought it could be that mate, but it says in a previous post he has put a new coil pack on.
Don't you just love French cars when they throw this kind of problem at you! Lol

Yes mate already changed coil pack... after taking map sensor out its covered in oil as im guessing previous owner has over filled it and the air intake has sucked oil through the breather pipe and strate into carb etc.. ive cleaned them all out and cleaned the inlet mani etc and it seems to run alot better but still does it slightly. Am guna change map sensor n hope that sorts it if not il go down the route of crank sensor etc etc..
