Hi there im from birmingham and i work in tamworth 31.7 miles away from my house, im off work till the 2nd of jan, and im really shitting it as i went to drop my misses this morning and i could see brown yellow musky stuff under the car, i drove her home about 1 mile, and came back popped the hood and
there is that musky stuff in my coolant tank, there is very little of it on my oil cap, but my dipstick is showing now oil atall! I not long changed the oil so i know there was a full tank of oil in their but dipstick says no! Dad says head gaskit! I guessed this myself aswell, my problem is is how bad can this be ? I start work on the 2nd and because of christmas i have 15pound to my name, so no car no work which equals the sack, and supposenly might need pipes changed because of the oil a head gaskit labour new oil new antifreeze ect, has anyone been in a situation as sticky as this? What did you do please help!!!

#2Can you smell petrol when you open the radiator cap mate?
-
#3No? No smell can se the oil floating though
-
#4Shitty oil Physically under the car?
That would indicate a leak to me... is the sump plug intact? -
#5Yeah sump fine, the leak is feom the side of the rad from the coolant bottle though, well looks to be
-
#6Well you need oil before you drive it anywhere.
Does the temperature light come on at all? When my old 1.1 head gasket went the car wouldn't run for more than 10 minutes without overheating.
Mayo doesn't always indicate head gasket as it can also be caused by cold and short journeys, loosing oil however does. -
#7No lights past few days ive been driving it all day
-
#8Well your oil is going somewhere, get a garage to pressure test it and that will tell you if its gone or not.
get some more oil in it and keep an eye on it. -
#9Did a pressure test 3weeks ago all 150 psi and above was told its fine :/
-
#10Is the oil filter secure and not leaking etc.
It sounds more of a leak than a gasket to me tbh. -
#11I feel head haskit because it has a sliw minor leak from the head cambelt side someone on here before said thats normal and common oil cap is secure, i can take a video post on youtube and send you a link?
-
#12How long has it taken to use all the oil since you re filled it mate.
It is common for these to leak slightly from the head, oil cap may be secure, but is the oil filter? -
#13Video is called head gaskit ? 1.1 saxo
Video published by ja50napp1
About 4 weeks last serviced by my self fliter and cap secure, and i know just its all happend over night i knew i was burning/loosing oil slowly but not like that check the video mate -
#14Is it on YouTube the video?
-
#15Yes mate
-
#16Not there.
-
#17Maybe it is processing check again maybe ?
-
#18If there is oil in the coolant it's 99% chance that the headgasket has gone, unless you've cracked the head or similar which is far worse. Oil can't get into the cooling system any other way unless you are running a oil to water heat exchanger which on your car is not the case.
-
#19Just a question but did you put the right oil in before. Because once my friend put the wrong oil in his car and it burnt it all off in about a week. We thought he was losing oil but when he put the correct oil in he never lost any again
-
#20Yeah i know just topped it with oil, it dont over heat but it gains heat really quick so after drivimg it for a while most likly would over heat, because its getting hot the oil/water is exspanding and coming out the overflow hole on the coolant tank by the cap theres a small hole for over flow since ive filled it with oil its got thicker and mukkyer, just doing my head in because the car seems to be running perfectly fine, just got oil in water and its overflowing the coolant resivoir and coming out the tiny hole

#21Just watched your vid

Strange... As your coolant is very, very thick. But not much Mayo on the Filler Cap.
Think you need 2nd Opinion from a Citroen / Pug Mechanic on this one. Chance your luck at your local Citroen / Pug Dealer. Ask for the Garage Foreman. Tell him when you get outside. " You ain't got no mun " . Just looking for an opinion, on what is wrong. Any Mechanic Loves to give free advise, you only have to appeal to there good side.
Please .. Just top up the oil before you go anywhere though as don't want to seize the engine. ( If the Oil Light comes on. It's to tell you that it's to late to top up the oil. BANG )
