#2take it engine still works and revs? im thinking maybe a linkage but then im pretty sure it wouldnt go into gear if it wasnt working. were you changing gear as it happened?

#3To get a cat C back on the road, you need to go for a VIC test after it's been repaired?

You have to wait for vosa to give you a test date
I heard something like that from Bullock so could be complete shit

#4i remember wen all my gears went i could get all gears but no drive, sometimes it reversed and it was my gearbox tht was goosed, so im guessing new gearbox. i suggest a good second hand one and try fit it yourself thts wot i did. if not your looking around £100-£150 for someone to fit it for you

#6yes, you need to get a VIC test before it goes back on the road, but does not need to be repaired just needs to be roadworthy ie so they can drive it around the compound. You book a test in with VOSA and depending on the testing station it can be a week or 3 months wait, and costs £41.00 off the top of my head.

#7This. Pretty sure it is £41. The car doesn't have to be painted or anything, just needs to be road worthy. The test is just to check the car is all legit etc.Quote:yes, you need to get a VIC test before it goes back on the road, but does not need to be repaired just needs to be roadworthy ie so they can drive it around the compound. I don't think EML light goes out until the engine starts anyway?
Check connectors to all the sensors, especially the flywheel sensor on the gearbox housing at the front of the car.
