steering rack play

   The middle part of my rack where the track rods meet has quite alot of play up and down just wondered if any1 else has had this and how to go about repairing it? Would a new rack solve the problem or would it be something else? Cheers

   its a bearing in the centre, my old vts did this, never got round to changing it as i stripped it for parts

   no, there's a balljoint in the middle.

   I know about the joint in the middle but the play isnt coming from the joint, the whole metal bit that holds the balljoint in place is moving up and down.
