   putting vts in my vtr and asked someone on ebay for engine loom and ecu and he asked if i need a single plug or 3 plug i didn't think it would matter what one come with it so can i put any on there or do i need a specific one? thanks

   ok so, rougly, 96-00 cars are single plug 00-03 cars are 3 plug.
   The ECU is differant as are the sensors on the engine.
   
   i would avoid the hassle of swapping sensors/splicing looms. Its for some, but not all. Just get one from the correct year, there are 100s tbf.

   would i be able to use vtr ecu as im putting bike carbs on vts?

    No you can not, dont even use the vtr ecu on a vts the fueling will be all over the place.

    is there much difference in the looms between vtr and vts as found a nice one with 3 plug ecu

    Yes, now stop being a cheap skate and fork out for a decent VTS motor and loom package with the correct loom, it will save you a bunch of time and hassle in the future. its not that hard!
    
    3 Plug ECU Engine & Loom from a VTS around 51 plate onwards.
