My Saxo's new look

  1. #1
I've had these parts since before Christmas, just not had any time to fit 'em up! Anyway, went to R-Tec (top service and great guys) yesterday and got the suspension fitted up (Eibach dampers and Pi springs) and then removed the rear wiper, fitted up the French plates and got the rims on. I think it look pretty cool. It needs to go a bit lower, although it drives really nice on the current set-up. No rubbing even on the 8x15in TH Mono's. The ride height has dropped a further 10mm or so since these pics were taken and it looks a little more manly, but I still want more. May go for a set of coilovers to get the ride height bang-on. Also need to space the rears out a further 5mm to achieve the look I'm after.

Excuse the crappy pic quality and dirty car. Looking forward to getting the doors de-locked (someone broke-in) and the door repaired (someone broke into it again)
Like I say, there'll be a few tweaks before TRAX to get it looking a bit sweeter.

Really pleased I've got it sorted, it's been annoying me having all of the bits here, but no time to get it sorted!

    Cheers,
    Ben.

Thanks for all of the nice comments guys. I think you mean Fast Car, not Max. In fact I know you mean Fast Car, because I work there! Pics of the car in next months completely re-designed new look issue!
    Thanks again,
    Ben.

Yeah, I can mention the site in the mag - no probs. The main three mags - Max Power, Redline and Fast Car have seen a lot of changes over the last year or so. I used to work for Redline, but moved across to Fast Car about three months ago. Fast Car has undergone a massive re-design, a complete rethink of what we're about and what our readers want. It needed it massively because it had not been changed for over three and a half years and obviously the scene has moved on over that period of time.
Now, I used to think Max Power was good about six years ago, then I thought Redline was good, but I can now honestly say that the new Fast Car (on sale August 30th) is a really great mag and easilly the best of the three. Yes, I would say that, but I'll be 100% honest and say that if I didn't genuinely believe that I'd just say nothing at all.
The new Fast Car is a very well thought out magazine packed with loads of quality features aimed at the core of the modified car scene. Loads of really well modified cars and no more stupidly modded motors.
Excuse the long post, but I'm really passionate about the new mag and I really hope you guys like it. I'd be interested to know what you think, feel free to PM me your comments (good or bad, as long as they're constructive) if you read a copy of the new look mag and they may end up in print.
Anyway, I'll post some details of what's in the latest issue and a cover shoot in the next week or so in the General section.
    Thanks again,
    Ben.

Never read redline or fast car always viewed them as "chav" However one of the writers in redline is building an awesome mk2 golf in camo colours and with image wheels and now this sweet saxo is being built by someone who works for fast car maybe the mags are looking up. Think i'll stick to PVW though (strange as I don't own a dub anymore LOL)

Nah I wouldn't say both mags are looking up, but it's just Fast Car that's on the up. Allow me to explain...
You see, I used to work for Redline and I started building the Mk2 you're on about when I was Redline. It's now featured in Fast Car every month since I now work for FC. Thank you for the comments about the Golf.

    This is the one...

    Right?

So both of these motors are my Fast Car Project Vehicles and nothing to do with Redline any more.
PVW is a good mag, but I reckon you'll really like the new FC. I understand what you say about the mags being a bit chav. But the new FC really is a cracking mag. That's just my opinion, I'd be very interested in hearing yours once it's on sale at the end of this month.

Thanks again, maybe I'll be able to put the Saxo on the Sax-P stand at TRAX or perhaps I am too late?

    Cheers,
    Ben.

    Hi Guys,
Glad you like the mag, thanks again for the comments. Muchos appreciated.
I'll mention Sax-p in Fast Car, no probs. Quite a lot more planned now. Saw some quality ICE cars at TRAX so I'm inspired to get the audio well sorted. Gonna get Plush-Automotive.com to do me an SQ install asap.
    I'll keep you updated!

Sold the Pulsar to a mate of mine. Saxo's having an install so I've tweak the ride height once the install's in - save doing it twice!
